Cars in the Park 2000

The day started off great, and we were on our way to the meeting point, when I suddenly heard “GRRR…” – BEARINGS!

Harry came along about five minutes after our breakdown and lent us a tow rope. We eventually arrived at BJ's to find everybody had already left. We left my car (the trusty old red R10 well-known to all of you) in the parking lot for later collection. I was not going to let this disaster spoil my day, and we carried on to Pretoria in Babsie's car which experienced some overheating and discharging problems.

When we did arrive at Pioneer Park, Babsie's car stalled. After pushing the R16TS up a slight hill to the Renault stand, we were finally able to start enjoying the beautiful cars and great company of out club members in the glorious sunshine.

The club was well represented, with a good selection of 16 cars. I would like to thank Pieter Henning for joining us all the way from the Cape, and showing off some of the beautiful Renaults they have there.

At the end of the day, all went well and we had a wonderful time. Hope to see you all at the next event!
